Let X , be a geometrically connected smooth and proper curve over a local or global field K . Following GROTHENDIECK [3] there is a canonical exact sequence for the (etale) fundamental group z,(X,) of X,. (Here and in the following we will omit the base points.) where I? denotes an algebraic closur
## Abstract The aim of this study is to model rainfall amounts on a daily basis by fitting a smooth curve to the mean rainfall __per__ rainy day. The rainfall amounts are described as gamma distributions with smoothing parameters. The smoothing technique used is the approach of the Fourier series.
The effect of runoff generation on the erosion of gypsiferous soils under different experimental conditions was investigated by applying simulated rainfalls of 48 and 58 mm h-' to experimental plots exhibiting representative characteristics of these soils. The 45 experiments indicate differing erosi
