Abstract
We consider a certain stochastic pursuit—evasion problem of the homicidal chauffeur type. Specifically, weshow that, in contrast to the less straightforward swerve manoeuvre employed in the deterministic model, the particularly simple bang‐bang pursuit strategy synthesized here is applicable to a significant range of problem parameters. The strategy of the slower but agile player is also characterized, and its geometric meaning isillustrated.
