β¦ Synopsis
High resolution spectra of the symbiotic star CH Cygni secured at the Bohyunsan Astronomy Observatory (BOAO) in April 2004 are discussed. In this phase, while CH Cygni was in quiescence photometrically, H I lines had complicate emission and absorption components, while [O III] lines had emission components and Na I D lines had absorption components. We measured radial velocities for emission and absorption components of these lines. The lines were also de-convoluted and fitted with multi-Gaussian functions to study a relationship between line shapes and geometrical arrangements of the line source. Results are discussed in terms of an accretion disk model and a gaseous envelope surrounding the system.

## Abstract The CARS spectra of gasβphase molecules have contributions from both real and imaginary components of the thirdβorder nonβlinear susceptibility. When the spectral lines are closely spaced as in the highβresolution CARS spectra (e.g. Λ 0.03 cm^β1^) of the __Q__βbranches of diatomic molec
Dipolar splittings with a quadratic dependence on static magnetic field strength are reported for selected pairs of nuclei in several porphyrins. These splittings are detectable as a result of a slight molecular alignment caused by the interaction of the static magnetic field with the anisotropic ma
