โฆ Synopsis
After outlining the geographic, social and economic background of the Sultanate of Oman, this paper describes its healthโcare system and the role of the Ministry of Health and of Sultan Qaboos University in the development of the health information services. It recommends the establishment of a consortium of biomedical libraries with the coโoperation of the Ministry, the University and the regional ofice of WHO to improve resource sharing and to provide a costโeffective document delivery system throughout the Gulf region.
