โœฆ Synopsis


After outlining the geographic, social and economic background of the Sultanate of Oman, this paper describes its healthโ€care system and the role of the Ministry of Health and of Sultan Qaboos University in the development of the health information services. It recommends the establishment of a consortium of biomedical libraries with the coโ€operation of the Ministry, the University and the regional ofice of WHO to improve resource sharing and to provide a costโ€effective document delivery system throughout the Gulf region.
