## Abstract The growth of transparent single crystals of sodium chloride (NaCl) in agar and silica gels up to 4 × 4 × 4 mm size is reported. A brief description of the material preparation, growth procedure and crystal nucleation is given. Hydrochloric acid was used to crystallize NaCl incorporated
