✦ Synopsis

The infrared spectrum of gas-phase CsH in its ground electronic state has been observed using a diode laser spectrometer. The wavenumber of eight transitions of the u= l-0 band, twelve transitions of the u=2+ 1 band and six transitions of the r~=3+2 band have been measured with a nominal accuracy of 510.001 cm-I. These data have been used to obtain the most accurate values for the ground-state Dunham parameters available to date. An improved value of r,= 2.4942 ( 1) A has been determined for CsH.
