Abstract
An apparatus has been developed for the gravimetric determination of solids in steam by the continuous evaporation of large samples of condensate in a dustβfree atmosphere. A high rate of evaporation is achieved without actual boiling, perfect evenness of operation being made possible by frequent small increments of sample. The apparatus is completely automatic and troubleβfree and shuts itself down in the event of electrical breakdown, or at the completion of the evaporation of the sample. This is made possible by the use of an electronic control unit.
