## Abstract Recent sequencing of the metazoan __Oikopleura dioica__ genome has provided important insights, which challenges the current understanding of eukaryotic genome evolution. Many genomic features of __O. dioica__ show deviation from the commonly observed trends in other eukaryotic genomes.
