The formally exact expression for the dielectric permittivlty tensor of a hquid crystal is obtained within the model of point molecukr polarizability. The expansion of the dielectCc tensor in the correlation functions is presented ard the generalized Lorentz-Lorenz equations are derived in the molecular field approximation.
