III this paper a complex variable analytic methodfor soling stress concentrations in the circular qlindrical shell is proposed. The problew to be solved can be summarized into the solution of all infinite algebraic equation series. The solution can be normal and effective bJ means qf this method.

Numerical results for stress concentrations in the shell with a circular. elliptic'cutout are graphical!~~ presented.
