Concern about the implication of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in atmospheric ozone depletion has led to numerous measurements of the concentrations of halogen-containing compounds in the stratosphere. Of the various possible oxidation products of CFC's in the stratosphere, carbonyl chlorofluoride (COF
