✦ Synopsis

The materials investigated were a mineral wool in three density grades (Stillite) and a flexible polyurethane foam in one density grade (Pritex). From the measured normal impedances of two sample thicknesses, for one absorbent at a given frequency, the complex density and velocity were obtained. With these parameters the impedance of any thickness, for any angle of incidence, may be obtained. The investigation was confined to the frequency range 500-2500 Hz.
