โœฆ Synopsis


J. Steiner (1885) stated that complete extirpation of the frog cerebellum gives no demonstrable gross changes other than phenomena interpretable as dysmetria. The experiments to be described were undertaken in 1933 in order to ascertain the effects of unilateral cerebellar lesions in contrast to the bilateral destructions performed by Steiner.

One hundred and two small frogs of both sexes were used. Lesions were made with a hot needle, and hematoxylin-easin stained sections were prepared in order to check the accuracy of the lesions. The frogs were observed as long as 6 weeks following operation.
