W. H~'USS~.AN~ TI~ s'vm, om~ was very well prepared by the organizing committee headed by its chariman, Dr. M. Vukobratovic. A total of 74 papers was submitted with a good cross section from theory to practical application. Five survey papers were planned; however, one was not given. In addition, 21 of the selected papers had to be cancelled and three were read by others than the authors because they could not participate.
