✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The folded dipole is known to have a fourfold increase in input impedance over that of a dipole. However, the half‐wavelength folded dipole also maintains a balanced radiation pattern when fed with an unbalanced transmission line. A numerical and experimental investigation of the folded dipole performance is reported in this paper. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 29: 155–160, 2001.
