✦ Synopsis

We present a new technique for developing the Fourier expansion of the interaction between a panicle and an infinite array of particles, and its application to situations in which the array particles move about their equilibrium lattice positions. We discuss several functional forms for the displacement, at a given time, of the lattice panicles and give expressions for the correction in each case.
