β¦ Synopsis
The polarized el&onic absorption spectra of p-nilrophenylhydrazi~ single crystals have been studied at 298 and 77 K and some optical properties have been determined. The unit celi transition moment projection on the (rP) plane is given. The anomalous liquid to crystal shift is discussed in terms of intermolecular interaction and provides evidence of the considerable role played hy resonacce irl determining high nonlinear susceptibility.
