โฆ Synopsis
Biological adaptability has been proved to be analysable by means of the Maximum Entropy
Formalism (MAXENT) in some cases of non-interacting systems. This formalism is extended to the biomass statistical structures of populations exhibiting internal interactions (i.e. predatorprey effects).

Wavelet analysis of different solar activity indices-sunspot numbers, sunspot areas and flare index-allows us to investigate the time evolution of some frequency dependent functionals, like wavelet entropy, which gives useful information about the complexity level of the related signals. Expert systems that use causal probabilistic networks require the user to supply complete causal information regarding the causal probabilities to be used. This paper describes a method using the maximum entropy formalism that enables such expert systems to operate with incomplete causal information
A stationary state of maximal entropy is derived as a solution of a variational procedure. Generators of a continuous group are used as the constraints. The selrconsistent hamiltonian is linear in these generators so that the solution of the se&cons-tency problem Is replaced by a solution of an alge
This work is an extension of a previous investigation on the determination of mathematical volume-spray drop size distributions by the application of the maximum entropy formalism. A two-parameter drop size distribution was derived and was found to give reasonable ยฎts with experimental distributions
This paper reports an investigation on the volume-based drop size distribution of sprays produced by swirl atomizers dedicated to direct-injection spark-ignited engines. Because of the use of high injection pressures to reduce the atomization time, the spatial density of the spray is high and preven
