โฆ Synopsis
he incidence of seminoma in Stage I and Stage I1 was assessed in T a large population. A testicular biopsy was obtained from infertile males and from cryptorchid boys who had undergone a corrective surgical procedure. In no patient was a tumor suspected. The tissue was embedded in Epon and semithin sections were analyzed histochemically with a light microscope. A total of 4746 biopsies were analyzed by the same investigator. The seminomatous tumor was confirmed by two methods: its typical histologic ultrastructural morphology,' and with immunohistochemical techniques employing a specific antiseminoma monoclonal antibody [YLEM:CVA512] .2 All together, 9 seminomas were found in 4084 patients. One of these patients subsequently developed seminomas in both testes.
