✦ Synopsis
Irradiation-induced metastable states similar to those reported earlier in Na2[Fe(CN),NO] ,2Hz0 and Ba[Fe(CN),NO]. 3H,O were observed in single crystals, crystalline powders and solutions of nitmsylpentacyanoferrates of different cations, including alkali metals, alkaline earth metals and the bivalent ions of the iron group. Such states can be generated in all nitrosylpentacyanoferratetontaining substances. The decay temperatures of the metastable states were determined using differential scanning calorimetry and appear to be positively correlated to the la&e energy.
