Abstract
A method has been developed for the examination of compositions prepared from polyvinyl chloride and related polymers. Its purpose is to recover the polymer from the. composition by solution in tetrahydrofuran, followed by subsequent precipitation of the polymer with alcohol from the tetrahydrofuran solution.
Figures are given for the chlorine contents of polymers used in the preparation of compositions and of the corresponding polymers recovered from tetrahydrofuran solution; the influence of the test on the infraβred spectra of the polymers is indicated.

Emissions evolved from the pyrolysis and combustion of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) were studied at four different temperatures (500, 700, 850 and 1000 8C) in a horizontal laboratory tubular quartz reactor in order to analyse the influence of both temperature and reaction atmosphere on the final product
The polymerization of N-vinylcarbazole in the presence of FeCl 3 -impregnated montmorillonite resulted in the formation of a poly(N-vinylcarbazole)-montmorillonite composite. XRD analysis of the composite revealed no expansion for d 001 spacing, in sharp contrast to that for the same composite prepa
