✦ Synopsis

A free-Lagrangian hydrodynamics code, HOBO, for flow in two dimensions is described. HOBO uses arbitrarily shaped cells with arbitrary connectivity that move with the fluid velocity. Only occasional reconnection and rezoning are required to accommodate virtually any amount of fluid distortion. Each cell uses an independent, locally-determined computational time step, which greatly improves the efficiency of the code.
