✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A procedure is suggested by which an estimate of the ascent or descent of air can be obtained by use of constant‐level maps and upper air soundings plotted on tephigrams or charts of a similar type. Results obtained by this method are compared with those by other methods. Examples of its use in forecasting are given.
