Two commercial brands of active carbon (granulated) were used; they had an apparenr specific gravity of 0.454 and 0.357, 0 0 4'7 so 6 so 1'3 6 50 0 Z ' O respectively. The experiments were carried out in' a vertical so 6 SO 3 ' 0 6.0 so --jacketed column. Through the jacket circulated a liquid which 400 4s 320 10.4 80 37.6 maintained constant temperature. All experiments were carried out at 12' and with a feed rate of 300 C.C. of ethylene chlorohydrin solution per hour. The analytical method employed is described in the foregoing paper.I C.C.
