β¦ Synopsis
IN previous papers 1 the writer has determined the zero of the controllable internal energy and entropy of a substance, and some of the corresponding properties. This zero corresponds to the substance being in the condensed state under its vapor pressure at the absolute zero of temperature. The subject is extended in the present paper in connection with the equation of state of a substance at the absolute zero of temperature. It leads to results which can be tested by numerical data. The equation of state thus obtained thermodynamically falls into line with the equation of state of a mixture at any temperature obtained in a previous paper, 2 whose deduction does not depend on thermodynamics.
