✦ Synopsis
The rotating rmgcIisc electrode technique was used to study the generation of soluble Pb(II) species during the anodic oxidation of the lead electrode in various HIO-H,SO, media. The concentration range cxtcnded from 0.06 to 10.3 M H,SO,. For every concentration it was possible to detect a small cathodic ring current variation which was attributable to the reduction of Pb(IIJ to Pb. Quantitative measurements of the collection efficiency showed that the small cycle Ilfe nf the lead acid battery m 5.6 M H,SO, cannot be ascribed to the dissoiutlon step.
