✦ Synopsis
The electrochemical and photoelectrochemical properties of polycrystalline n-type NaNbO, electrodes were examined in 1M NaOH and 1N H2S04. The band gap of NaNbO, was determined as 3.44 eV from photocurrent spectroscopy studies. The Rat band potentials of n-type NaNbOs were found to be more negative than the 2H+/Hr redox potential in both IM NaOH and IN H,SO,. In addition, the photocurrents were steady with time in both electrolytes indicating that It should be possible to construct a stable photodriven n-NaNbO,/electrolyte/counter electrode photoelectrolysis cell.
