โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

It is shown that between rigid misfitting spheres in an elastic continuum there is a repulsive interaction if the spheres are bonded to the medium. The effect of other boundary conditions is discussed, and a simplified method is given for calculating the interaction between various types of defect.

Using Voigt-Reuss-Hill averages, we have calculated the elastic constants and phonon deformation potentials of polycrystalline diamond films exhibiting texture along an arbitrary direction. The results are plotted for all directions in the plane (1 " 10). The effects on the Raman-active phonon frequ

The magnetic properties of the ferromagnetic Kondo-lattice model (FKLM) are investigated. Starting from an analysis of the magnon spectrum in the spin-wave regime, we examine the ferromagnetic stability as a function of the occupation of the conduction band n and the strength J of the coupling betwe
