โฆ Synopsis
I n a previ o m publication (Ringocn a i d Kirschhaurn, '39) brief reference wts made to the effects of injections of female sex hormone upon the ovary and oviduct of the Eiiglisli sparrow cluriiig the season of sexual inactivity. Attention was called to the fact that administration of the estrogenic substance inhibited normal seasonal gonadal developnient, but engendered precocious oviduct hypertrophy.
The purpose of the present investigation is to give a n account of a further study of the effects of estrogenic treatment upon blie female English sparrow. Particular emphasis has been placed on the results achieved during the fall of the Fear, although coilsideration is given to previous experimental work on the reaction of hormonal-treated birds during the -cvinter time.
