A 1,2,4-triazole resistant mutant of S. typhimurium has been isolated, in which serine transacetylase activity is seven times higher than in wild type. Partially purified serine transacetylase from a strain carrying the trz-312 mutation has kinetic properties which are virtually identical to those o
