✦ Synopsis

Compared validity ratings of feedback statements by Ss to determine whether a response set was present to endorse positively worded statements as more accurate than negatively worded ones and to determine whether negative wording interfered with Ss' abilit to distingulsh "true" from " f a d ' feedback. No significant findings of t t e operation of a response set to endorse positive statements as more accurate resulted. The major finding was that negative wording interfered markedly with 8s' ability to perceive the invalidity of "false" feedback statements.
