✦ Synopsis

The system of processes for production of olefins and aromatics is investigated in order to assess the possibilities and the effects of substitution of actual petrochemical raw materials by coal. As the coal conversion technologies offer more alternative processing routes for the production of olefins and aromatics the mathematical model of the system is used for generation of optimum system structures with respect to different objectives. The importance of direct, as well as indirect, coal liquefaction processes is indicated by introduction of coal as the source of raw materials for the chemical industry.
