✦ Synopsis

The use of a nitric acid solution and a 30% solution of hydrogen peroxide with a microwave digestion method was shown to give cadmium recoveries in the range 95-107% when digesting fish. Accuracy was established using National Institute of Science & Technology standard reference oyster tissue and was found to be satisfactory.
