β¦ Synopsis
Synthetic wind speed and air temperature profiles based on the sensible heat flux density and stress at the surface are averaged for the four possible ways in which the suface stress and heat flux density can vary maintaining the same average values. The analysis of the averaged wind and temperature profiles shows that, when the surface stress and/or heat flux density are time-variable, and wind speed and air temperature are averaged linearly, an erroneous estimate of surface roughness, surface stress, heat flux density and profile structure parameters will result. ~ 1

A short survey of the historical development of temperature radiation screens is given based upon research in the archives of the Nordic meteorological institutes. In the middle of the nineteenth century most thermometer stands were open shelters, free-standing or fastened to a window or wall. Most
The hydrogenolysis reaction of coal using red-mud and sulphur as catalyst has been carried out at 400 and 45O"C, 10 MPa or 3 MPa of hydrogen, and 3 MPa of hydrogen plus 7 MPa of nitrogen. The mean chemical structures of the asphaltenes and oils produced show that at first the portion with relatively
## Abstract A rapidly convergent solution is obtained for the equations of radiative transfer. An absorbing atmosphere having an arbitrary variation of mixing ratio, temperature and pressure with height is considered. The Lorentz shape of the spectral lines together with the dependence of their lin
