The phase relations in the system \(\mathrm{MgO}-\mathrm{V}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{5}-\mathrm{MoO}_{3}\) were studied and the subsolidus region of the phase diagram was constructed. The new compound \(\mathrm{Mg}_{2.5} \mathrm{VMoO}_{8}\) was discovered on the join of \(\mathrm{MgMoO}_{4}-\mathrm{Mg}_{3} \
