โœฆ Synopsis

The effects of temperature on the dynamic response of thin CFRP plates has been investigated by using the finite element method. Resonance frequencies of clamped CFRP plates were then measured, under various spatially varying temperature fields, and compared with results predicted by using a simple finite element model. An extensive experimental investigation of the effects of thermal/acoustic environments on acoustically induced strains in CFRP plates was undertaken. These experimentally determined strains were then compared with those predicted using a simple single mode formula.
