The influence of pH and medium composition on the production of ethanol by Zymomonas mobilis was investigated with fructose as substrate. The kinetic properties of the strain on fructose were as good as on glucose and pH 5.0 was found optimum. A mineral medium contaioing calcium pantothenate was des

โฆ Synopsis
Two strains of Z.mobilis were evaluated for temperature sensitivity between 25oc and 40ยฐ~ higher temperatures the cell viability, biomass yield, ethanol yield and final ethanol concentration decreased, and there was evidence of increased ethanol inhibition.
However the kinetic parameters ~, qs and qp were largely unaffected by temperature over this range.

The kinetic behaviour of Z zmomonas mobilis is studied at temperatures from 27ยฐC to 34.5ยฐC. Increases of temperature (above a critical value) have a negative effect on the yield of ethanol, mainly by raising the maintenance coefficient. Cell growth is less inhibited by the ethanol accumulation insid
Zymomonas mobilis, strain ATCC 10988, was used to evaluate the effects of pH (5.0 to 8.0), temperature (30ยฐC to 40ยฐC), and initial glucose concentration(75 g/C to 150 g/6) on the kinetics of ethanol production from glucose using batch fermentation. Specific ethanol production rate was maximum and ne
