✦ Synopsis

Numerous experiments have indicated that surface active agents exert a profound stabilizing effect on convection induced by surface tension. The stabilization is predicted theoretically here by extending PEARSON's stability analysis of surface tension induced convection to account for the presence of surface active agents.
