In the paper the magnetic-field influence upon the Sand L components of SO2 fluorescence is studied under 3080 A excitation. The magnetic field affects both the amplitudes and the lifetimes of the two components. A model is outlined for qualitative description of the results obtained.

576 children with croup syndrome were studied in correlation with SO~, dust and continental air masses over a period of 4~/3 years (1967--1971). A definite increase of morbidity related to SO~-eoncentrations higher than 80 ppb was demonstrafed. These data were evaluated by computer analysis.
