. The effect of stability on evaporation rates measured by the energy balance method. Agric. Meteorol., 11 : 261 267.
Comparative lysimetric and energy balance data is examined in relation to stability conditions. Some recently published experimental relations between the eddy diffusivities for momentum, heat and water vapour are then used to determine the effect of the assumption of equal diffusivities on the calculation of the Bowen ratio. These effects are shown to support the comparative measurements. * For the explanation of the symbols see Appendix.

## Abstract Wet grasslands are important both for their conservation value and for their important hydrological function. Evaporation is an important component of the water balance of a wetland. Where water is limited rainfall and/or surface (or subβsurface) inflows are required to balance the summ
To evaluate an interactive eect of snow on energy exchange between the forest and atmosphere, the energy balance above a forest was measured continuously between February and April of 1997 in the Hitsujigaoka Experimental Forest, Sapporo, northern Japan. The forest was a dense, 23-year-old, conifero
Many cellular reactions involve a reactant in solution binding to or dissociating from a reactant attached to a surface. Most studies assume that the reactions occur on this surface, when in actuality the receptors usually lie in a thin layer on top of it. The effect of this layer is considered, par
