β¦ Synopsis
Within the unrestricted Hartree-Fock approximation and the real space recursion method, we calculated the electronic Ε½ 6 0 . Ε½ structure of the La Sr CoO in whole doping range 0.0 F x F 1.0. The low-spin LS, t e , the intermediate-spin IS,
. t e , and the high-spin HS, t e states as well as their combinations in the doubled cell were taken as the initial 2 g g 2 g g Ε½ 6yx 0 . configurations. It is found that the system is a nonmagnetic low-spin state t e for x F 0.25 and a ferromagnetic 2 g g Ε½ 5 1yx . intermediate-spin state t e for 0.25 -x F 0.41. For 0.41 -x -0.95, the ground state of the system is a IS-HS 2 g g Ε½ 5 1yx 4 2yx . t e -t e nearest neighbor ferromagnetically ordered state, which is followed by the HS state up to x s 1.0. The 2 g g 2 g g ground state properties as a function of Sr doping are in accord with the experimental observations.

We failed to prepare single crystal of BiMnO with starting material of 2Bi O #Mn O at ambient pressure according to Bokov et al. (see Ref. 21). This attempt resulted in Bi O and Bi O β’ 2Mn O with a trace amount of BiMnO .
