Laboratory testing of 96 (150x150 mm) concrete cube specimens were performed to study the effect of aggregate variation on the strength of laterite concrete. The different investigations were carried out using granite gravel as coarse aggregate and lateritic sand as fine aggregate. The best proporti

Akoto, B.K. A., 1986. The effect of repeated loading on the ultimate unconfined compressive strength of a lime-stabilized laterite. Eng. Geol., 23: 125--135.
The effect of repeated loading on the unconfined compressive strength (U.C.S.) of both natural and lime-stabilized laterite has been examined. The general observation was that subjecting the material to repeated loading increases the ultimate unconfined compressive strength. For the same lime content and curing period, samples subjected to dynamic tensile load applications have residual unconfined compressive strengths greater than similar samples subjected to compressive dynamic loading before the determination of the residual unconfined compressive strength. Samples cured for seven days have an unconfined compressive strength about 80% of those cured for 28 days, but after subjecting samples cured for seven days to repeated loading, these had ultimate unconfined compressive strengths greater than the 28 days samples subjected also to repeated loading.
Factors responsible for these changes in strength have been examined.

A linear hydrodynamic analysis in normal modes has been developed for a membrane model that simulated the erythrocytes membrane. The characteristic dispersion equation was obtained by solving the linearized dynamic equations. Values of the parameters related to the erythrocyte membrane were used to
