โฆ Synopsis
This paper deals with the free transverse vibration of rectangular cantilever plates subjected to point constraints against deflection. Particular emphasis is given to the quantitative evaluation of effects of the constraints on the vibration characteristics. The natural frequencies and mode shapes of the plates are determined by the Lagrange multiplier method, an extension of the classical Ritz method. In the numerical examples it is found that a significant increase in frequencies occurs when the constraints are added on certain parts of cantilever plates. ' 0 o,

The practical engineering problem of cantilever plates with rigid point supports is dealt with in this paper. A highly accurate, economical and practical solution is outlined for the transverse free vibration analysis of these plates. The accuracy of the solution is discussed. It is also shown how w
