โฆ Synopsis
The influence of high energy oscillating electric fields on the coalescence of single drops at a plane oil-water interface is studied and various possible mechanisms are discussed.
A mathematical model of the physical system is formulated and used to evaluate the electrical force exerted upon the drop. Values for the initial and final thickness of the continuous phase film are calculated and related to this attractive force.
