✦ Synopsis
Calculating the processes in the filtering± screw conveyor press we assume: In a first axial section of the screw, fluid separation takes place as filtrate flow through the pores of a thin layer of filter cake in the gap between screw and screw barrel. In the adjoining second axial section of the screw, fluid is separated off by compressing a plastic string of the two-phase system in the screw channel. The transportation characteristic of the screw, which is measured using a pilot version, describes the pressure increase.
The numerical calculations of the processes in the filtering-screw conveyor press are in good agreement with the measurements at the pilot version.
