Semiconductor X-ray photoelectron Line positions are unaffected by changes in the snmplc's bulk Fermi level produced by doping. This is interpreted to result from pinning of the Fermi level at the surface by contaminnnts independent of tbc bulk Fermi level.

TlBr doped with In and Pb was synthesized and grown using a vertical Bridgman method. The segregation coefficients of both dopants in TlBr were calculated using the different experimental optical and electrical characteristics of (TlBr) 0.973 -(InBr) 0.027 and (TlBr) 0.972 -(PbBr 2 ) 0.078 crystals.
The single crystal TlBr, a promising candidate as a room temperature gamma-ray detector has material problems that are related to purity, crystal quality and treatment during the detector manufacturing. In this work, the effects of sizing, polishing and etching on properties of TlBr were studied by
The transition temperature of \(\mathrm{YBa}_{2} \mathrm{Cu}_{4} \mathrm{O}_{8}(124)\) is increased by about \(10 \mathrm{~K}\) by doping with calcium, whereas Ca substitution in \(\mathrm{Y}_{2} \mathrm{Ba}_{4} \mathrm{Cu}_{7} \mathrm{O}_{14+x}\) (247) has no effect on \(T_{\mathrm{c}}\). We summarize the results of a number of hard X-ray measurements on cerium-doped LaCl 3 and LaBr 3 scintillators. The experiment was carried out at the HASYLAB synchrotron radiation facility using highly monochromatic pencil beams across the energy range 10.5-100 keV. Additional full-area measurement
