Systematic studies on the effect of substitutions on the layered manganocuprate Eu 3 Ba 2 Mn 2 Cu 2 O 12 have been conducted. To introduce holes, we have made substitutions of Ca for Eu and/or Sc for Mn, (Eu 3؊x Ca x )Ba 2 (Mn 2؊y Sc y )Cu 2 O 12 . Single-phase compounds are obtained over a fairly w
