✦ Synopsis

The one-dimensional model of an isothermal continuous flow tubular reactor with axial diffusion, considered in part I, is extended to deal with variable temperatures. A differentia equation is deduced which allows the optimum yields and optimum temperature. distributions to be determined. Some numerical results are obtained for a reactor with 6rst order reversible reaction A + C, in which the activation energy of the reverse reaction is twice that of the forward reaction.
