Over the past few years an increasing attention has been paid to the construction of comprehensive econometric models and to their uses in forecasting in several socialist countries. Models of the type have proved to,,be capable of representing the basic relationships between macroeconomic indicators and of becoming suitable instruments for the improvement of centralized planning and management of the national economy. The most significant results in the construction of econometric models of the socialist economy have so far been achieved in the USSR,
