Lord Chesterton reveals that he has found a baron who apparently helps disabled people find matches. The duke’s daughter is disabled in a way, and the duke accepts the invitation to visit the baron, Lord Lucas.

But when the duke arrives, he meets more than he bargained for in the form of the baron’s daughter, Miss Sundry.
Miss Sundry’s father fears that his daughter is growing older and may soon be too old to be considered a suitable match. This interests the duke, but later, the duke finds out a secret which may spoil all of his hopes and dreams of a good future.
